Due Date

Seeing that I'm here at work, I don't think that Baby Boy Arnold got the message that today is his due date.

We just got back from the doctor and she has scheduled us for an induction next Thursday, November 18th. So, at least I know that I have a maximum of 7 more days.

There's no scheduled time for the induction, I have to stay at home on that day and wait for the hospital to call me. I am the fourth person on the list. My doc said that it could be any time all day long... meaning 5am or possibly 6pm. I'm not supposed to leave the house or eat anything besides clear liquids that day.

For everyone's sake, let's hope he decides to come on his own before then. : )

Lucky Day

Nine years ago today, I fell in love.

Two years ago today, I married him.

What else could happen on our lucky day? Only time will tell. : )

(Little did I know, nine years ago, that I'd be expecting our son. What a lucky, lucky person I am.)

I love you, Bryan. : )

Still Pregnant...

I'm still here. Still working. : )

We're only 3 days away from Baby Boy Arnold's Nov. 11th due date. I hope he comes soon. (Meanwhile, our 2 year wedding anniversary/9 year overall anniversary is tomorrow! Wouldn't that be a crazy anniversary present?!)

We have realized, recently, how lucky we are. There are so many people who keep calling and emailing us to see if the baby is here yet. It's very nice.

We didn't realize how excited everyone is to meet our little guy.

Thank you, to everyone, for your calls and emails. We can't wait to send you some good news soon! Please keep the positive thoughts headed in our direction! : )

p.s. I have found some great relief in the humor of the blog of Megan Morrone at www.jumpingmonkeys.com. It's the blog of a girl who once worked at TechTV who was pregnant (and went overdue) in spring of 2003. Here is my favorite pregnant blog entry that she wrote... it's SO true:

Oh, and this one, too, where she writes, "If I can teach you anything through this weblog it is that you cannot win with a pregnant woman. Remember that.": http://www.jumpingmonkeys.com/archives/000153.html#000153

No October Baby

It's officially November 1st. That's 10 days away from Baby Boy Arnold's due date.

We were all wondering if we were going to have another October birthday in our family. It's obvious, now, that the baby will join his Grandpa Arnold (Bryan's Dad - Nov. 2nd) and his Uncle John (Betts - Nov. 28th) for a November birthday.

We've been super busy unpacking and setting things up in our new house. We've gotten so much done! I think the baby deadline has been quite a good motivator for both Bryan and I. (A special "THANK YOU," goes to our family for all of the help that they've given us recently, too! We wouldn't be nearly as ready for this baby in the new house without your help!)

Our dog, Harley, seems to be getting used to her new surroundings and schedule, too. She watches us leave, every morning, from the front door:

Halloween this year was very low-key. With only three houses on our street, we didn't buy any candy or expect any trick-or-treaters, though I did still carve a jack-o-lantern. Bryan and I were talking last night about how different and fun next year's Halloween will be! I can't wait!

Meanwhile, the World Series gave me a pretty good Halloween costume idea to wear at dancing this year. I made the baby into a Cardinal. My little sister, Sara, who teaches with me, dressed up as a devil. We have a lot of fun teaching class together. Too bad the Cardinal costume didn't give our team the additional luck that we needed to win. At one point, Sara even turned her cape inside out, making it into her "rally cape". HAHA. : )

The World Series also brought in the Betts family from Kansas City, which also meant that we got to visit with my 2.5 year-old niece, Reese. She's still a bit confused about the baby in Aunt Caron's belly. I'm sure it's not an easy concept to understand at her age, but we did compare our bellies, at one point:

Congratulations to our friends Van and Amy Avanzado. They became parents on Friday, Oct. 29th, to a baby boy. His name is Samuel Allen, and I'm sure he's beautiful! (We look forward to watching our boys grow up together.)

Bryan and I now know the true meaning of the term "Expectant Parents". We're both very anxious to meet this little guy.

That's the up-to-date news from here. Happy November. : )
