Dear Leo,

One year ago today, we were holding our brand new little you in our arms. It is almost impossible to believe that 12 months have passed.

It is equally difficult to remember life before you arrived. You have formed a solid bond and lifelong friendship with your older brother, and especially of late, you have begun to play together and enjoy each others' company. It is incredible to witness.

Tonight, in fact, you joined in on the wrestle-mania with Daddy and Isaac, asserting yourself when Isaac was pinned to the floor, by belly flopping right on top of him. For some reason, you wouldn't attack your father, just your brother. We all were in stitches. Even your target, poor Isaac, thought it was hysterical.

I took the day off work today to be with you on your first birthday. All day you kept asking me, "Where's Izee?" and "Where's Daddy?" It always catches me off-guard when I hear a new phrase from you or when you try to repeat difficult words like, "delicious."

Speaking of delicious, you've inherited my sweet tooth. There was no stopping you from your birthday cakes. We had a party with friends and family on Saturday and you dug right in! Tonight, we celebrated with red velvet cupcakes and you loved it.

I think it's safe to say that you fully enjoyed your first birthday. And, so did we.

We love you to pieces, Sugar Pie. No matter what your age, you'll always be our Baby Squirt.

Leo has only been crawling for three days, but it seems that he gets better at it with each inch. Here is a video of him crawling at my parents' house, while I visited him at lunch:

And, for the second video...

Bryan and I have had our eye on this gadget for Isaac for a while. It's an attachment for your faucet that senses the temperature of the water. If the water is cold, it shines a blue light. If the water is hot, it shines a red light. We knew Isaac would get a huge kick out of this gadget. What we didn't expect was Leo's reaction:

I know parents say this all of the time, but time really has flown with Leo. He's already eight months old and we can hardly believe it. Lucky for us, there's usually a camera handy, video or otherwise, to help us remember.

I find myself hugging a little bit longer and concentrating on remembering how it feels to hold my baby in my arms and scoop Isaac up when I get home from work. I can't freeze time, but I can enjoy it while it's here. And, at that, I try to do my best.

Tiago (pronounced TEE-ah-Go) Andrew made his entrance to the world at 5:43 am on Monday, April 27th, weighing in at 9lbs, 3 oz and 21.75 inches long!

He is, so far, the biggest baby born from the Hoyne sisters. (Way to go, Kissie!)

Tiago celebrates his birthday with our Dad. (Can you have a better birthday present than a grandson being born ON your birthday?!)

Mama (Kristin) is doing great and Daddy (Carlos) and big sister Sofia couldn't be more proud of the newest Gomes.

Click here to see more photos of Tiago.

I have a superstition that babies don't come when I have items in-progress on my knitting needles for them. As Tiago's due date approached, I dared not tell Kristin about my superstition, but I did promise her belly that I would finish knitting before he came home from the hospital. Late last night, at 1:45am, I finished. : )

Now, to see if these teeny-tiny bootees fit these long feet of his... (*UPDATE* They do not fit! I have to make him bigger bootees!!)

After working extra hours last week, I find myself with a day off on one of the most beautiful days. The kids were still expected at day care and Bryan is booked at work. So with a day to myself, what do I do? I considered going shopping or getting my hair cut, but instead, I find myself on a patio, at the starbucks nearest Leo, doing computer maintenance.

Me? A Geek? Nah! : )

One of the items that has been on my task list for a while is posting this photo of Leo:

I think Leo enjoyed this as much as his brother and I each did when we were his size.

Now, excuse me while I continue to absorb as much spring as I can today.

      Well, hello! : ) It's been a little while, hasn't it.

I'm breaking my blog silence with some big news... We're expecting baby #2!

I'm 9 weeks pregnant right now, which makes my due date October 7th, 2008 (Bryan's Birthday). However, this next delivery will be a scheduled C-Section, so if all goes as planned, I'll probably be scheduled a week or two prior to my due date.

At my first prenatal visit, I measured big, so the doc scheduled an ultrasound. On Friday, Leap Day, we were able to get a first peek at the newest addition to our family. Seen below are two images. One is actual size and the other is zoomed. The baby's head is near the bottom of the screen and you can see two little stubs for arms and two little stubs for legs.

We are very excited. When I saw the first glimpse of the baby on the screen, happy tears rolled out of my eyes. There is nothing else like that experience in the world. It's simply amazing.

Isaac has no idea what he's in for. At the moment, if you try to tell him that there's a baby in Mommy's belly he says, "no. There's a baby in Isaac's belly." : )

I think Harley knows I'm pregnant. She's been hanging out by my side and has been very loving toward all of us recently.

Before I sign off, I'd like to mention Bryan's new website: www.bryanarnold.com. He's recently added a bunch of miscellaneous photos and videos that he had on his computer that aren't published on my blog. When you have a minute, click the link above and check it out.

So long for now, but not for too long. : )
