Right about now, two years ago, Bryan and I were headed to the hospital. I was in labor.
It was midnight, making it three days past my due date, and we weren't sure if this was "it" or not. About an hour later, my water broke and we knew we'd have a new member of the family within the day.
Isaac, I cannot believe you're two. The past two years have taught me more about myself than I could have ever imagined, good and bad. Thank you for that.
Yesterday, you started singing the Barney, "I love you, you love me..." song, to me. I'm not a fan of Barney (who lets you watch that, by the way?), but my heart grew 10 times the size it was with every note, hug, and kiss.
And though it is your birthday and not mine, you gave me the best present I could have ever imagined.

Happy Birthday Isaac! We are hoping everyone in the Arnold family is feeling healthier for this special day. Two years and one day ago we were trying to imagine what life would be like with a new person in the family. Now we know we were missing so many important and enjoyable aspects of life ... we didn't pat pat pat for blast off; we didn't know the way to say no is "aannhh"; we didn't know those vw cars were for driving on every surface in the family room.
