Today is my Mom's birthday.
Up until 9.5 months ago, I had NO IDEA what being a mom truly involved. I find myself often thinking, "how the heck did mom do that," or, "I wonder what mom did when I (insert baby activity here)". I'm learning, but it's taking time and patience.
I've also been known to call my parents late at night, frantic about something that Isaac has or has done that I'm not sure how to address. Their experience and expertise has been very, VERY valuable. I utilize their knowledge often.
I fully expect to be saying all of the phrases that I hated hearing as a kid, like, "sometimes we have to do things that we don't like to do," and, "so and so is just jealous."
Happy Birthday, Mom. We love you!! : ) I hope that someday that I can be as great as a Mom as you have been to all of us.

Thank you, Caron, for your nice birthday greeting! If the message wasn't enough to make a mom feel good, I was surprised with flowers and a treat when I got home! Then when I open my e-mail, I had a really funny e-card! Thank you for everything. I love you all!
