HAPPY B-DAY GIG!!

gig_bday_blog.jpg
Okay, okay... today isn't her birthday. My sister, Angie, was born at 12:12 am on New Years Day. My apologies for the belated birthday blog. : )

Angie was the first born of us four Hoyne girls. She was our fearless leader to get mom and dad to let us wear spandex pants and big hair in the 80's. She was our babysitter, who still won't make me hot chocolate, and she's been somewhat of a gauge and guide to look to when we all started driving, dating, and getting married. : )

A year and a half ago, she and our brother-in-law, John, made my sisters and me aunts with the birth of their first child, Reese. Then, a year later, they made Bryan and I God Parents. Both for which we feel very blessed. : )

So, Gig, I know I sang to you on the phone slightly after midnight on your birthday, but here's the official blog birthday wish:

All together, now!
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday dear Gigi,
Happy Birthday to you!!!!
(Papa, "BAHH-BUMMM!)

We love you and hope that this year is the best yet!

L,
C

My FIRST Home Game is a Playoff Game!!

WOW! I'm so excited! Thank GOD for Ctrl F5!!

At 9:59, I was crazy hitting Ctrl F5 (refresh for Internet Explorer) on the ticketmaster website and, believe it or not, I got in!!! : )

We're going to see the Rams play the Carolina Panthers in the NFC divisional playoff game on Saturday at the Jones Dome! YIPPEEE!

I have been very fortunate to see two Rams games before, but we had to travel 4.5 hours to Kansas City, and be lucky to have VERY generous sister & brother-in-law. In 2002 and 2001, they provided tickets for us and a fun tailgate party! : ) (Thanks, Gig & John!)

This time, though, the game is at home and a playoff game! WOOO HOOO! : )

Is anyone out there familiar with any pre-game activities in STL that we could join in on?

GO RAMS!!!!

p.s. Yes, I will be wearing my horns. : )

p.p.s. I just found out that it is a week for fun events! : ) I'm going to go see the musical "Mamma Mia" with my parents, little sis, & Mema tomorrow night! YAY!

Sea Urchins

We just got back from picking up my car with a new transmission! : ) YAY! It seems to be running quieter and shifting fine, but different than before. I guess I'm just used to a not-so-good trans. (BTW, I don't know if I'd be cheering if this wasn't covered under my Power Train warranty.)

Here's and excerpt from my invoice, describing the problem:
"Dropped trans. Pan had metallic bits on bottom & magnets looked like sea urchins. Contamination was throughout trans."

I guess "Sea Urchins" is a technical term. : ) I can see how magnets would look like sea urchins if there were little particles of metal attached all over them.

Anyway, that is that. : ) "Trinity the Infiniti" is back to her job of driving me to work, school, and dancing.

And, I know it's silly, but I think she's happy to be out of the car hospital. She looked happy to see me, and I her.

Can cars smile?

2004 STL Auto Show

I am highly impressed! The 2004 St. Louis Auto Show was great! It's the best it's been in quite a few years.

I took a lot of moblog photos last night. It earned me a spot on the "Editor's Picks" list on Textamerica!

The highlights of the evening included the new Ford GT40, the new Mustang (it looks like one from the 60's!), the new Viper, the new Vet, the crazy Caddy concept, the Acura TL, the new Nissan Maxima, the Infiniti G35 (4-door), the Acura NSX, and of course - the Nissan Xterra Supercharged.

I kept thinking of my future brother-in-law, Carlos, and how much he would have loved to be there with us. : )

My brother-in-law (Bryan's brother), Nick, took a lot of photos with his new digital camera. Here are a few: (click on the photos to enlarge)

Super SUNDAY! : )

survivor_all_stars.jpgIs it bad that I'm almost more excited to watch Survivor: All Stars after the Super Bowl rather than the Super Bowl itself? : )

I think I'm still just disappointed that neither the Rams or Chiefs made it there this year and I KNOW that I'm sick of seeing the Patriots there.

Much less, I started rooting for Green Bay and the Colts and it didn't happen for them either.

superbowl2003.jpgBummer.

Go Carolina... I guess?

I'm so not enthusiastic about Carolina or New England, but if I have to choose, I pick the team that beat the Rams. They've never been to a Super Bowl before now and I seriously hope that they kick the Patriots so far down that we won't see them on the big football finale for a while.

Meanwhile, I'm also very excited to make chili tonight with little football shaped noodles in it for tomorrow's festivities. : )

snowforecast.jpgHave a good Super Bowl. Be safe and stock up for this next storm heading our way Sunday evening. : )

Go Panthers! And GO RUPERT!!!!!!
