Patience...

Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

I still don't feel better. Damn.

My day will come... soon, I hope. : (

I miss Sarah.

October 2, 2003

Ahhh...

Well, I'm much better today for many reasons:
1. I slept for 7 hours last night

2. It's Thursday, and you all know what that means -- TV NIGHT!

3. We got out of class an hour early today!

4. I feel appreciated. : )

YAY! Well, gotta run home to watch some TV! Tonight's line-up...
Survivor, (tape Friends & Scrubs), Will & Grace, Watch taped Friends & Scrubs.

: )

TV Theories

As many of you know, Thursday night for Bryan and I is TV Night! We veg-out in front of the TV and watch Survivor, Friends, Scrubs, and Will & Grace.

While Scrubs and Will & Grace are great shows, the plot lines for Survivor and Friends are my main focus!

Survivor:
Well, it's week three and only one tribe has been to tribal counsel! That's 8 survivors to 5! The Drake tribe seems to be going strong, but I think they're going to throw a challenge soon to be able to get rid of Jon... He seems to be getting on everyone's nerves!

Rupert rocks the house! He is going to go far! My other top picks include Christa, Sandra, Andrew, and straight out of STL... Tijuana! Tijuana Bradley grew up in Webster Groves, went to SLU and was Miss Webster in 1993! YAY! It sure would be cool to have a "Sole Survivor" from St. Louis! : )

Friends:
If you don't hate the Joey-Rachel relationship, then you shouldn't call yourself a Friends fan! One of the main topics of the show has always been the Rachel-Ross relationship and the problems/love that they have.

I think the writers are going to fizzle this relationship fast! Why? Because:
1. It's the last season. Do you really think that they're not going to resolve this never-ending Ross-Rachel thing?

2. Matt LeBlanc, who plays Joey Tribbiani, is already signed to do a spin-off sitcom starting next year called "Joey". What we know so far is that he moves to L.A. to kick start his acting career. I highly doubt that Rachel is going to follow him there.

Whatever way you look at it, though, it's going to be a great season for both shows! : )

Happy Friday! : )

Lucky Orange Cards

Lucky Orange CardsWhat a great Friday night! : )

My little sister, Sara, and I have been talking about starting up a small card company on the side. We met last night for our second business development meeting and we got a lot done! : )

1. We established our logo.

2. We bought our domain name: www.luckyorangecards.com.

3. We bought hosting for our website and transferred the DNS info.

4. We made a temporary site with our logo on it.

5. We set some major goals for the end of the calendar year.

We were so excited last night! : ) It was funny. We both felt so accomplished and motivated!

If this energy keeps up I don't know how we can't do this successfully on the side!

"Orange You Lucky?" : ) I know I am!

Head Over Wheels

We had a fun time this past Saturday evening at Nick & Mindy Ottiger's house.

They have a lot of property and they're in Jefferson County so there was a big fire an a bit of four wheeling. Boy, am I still sore from that four wheeler! I think I'm just getting old. Sea-Doos do that to me, too, now. : ) (YAY for the chiropractor tonight, though!)

It was like a mini-reunion with some good friends from high school. Josh Arnold, Jason Bahr, Jessica Johnston, Stephanie Johnston, Mike Russek, Chris Eaves, our gracious hosts, Nick & Mindy Ottiger, and Bryan and I. : ) Now that's a recipe for a lot of high school, Webster, and Six Flags reminiscing!

Nick and Eaves jumped over the fire a couple of times a piece, we all ate about 2 dogs and 3 s'mores... It was super fun. : )

We look forward to the next Ottiger Oktoberfest next year! : )

P.S. GO CHIEFS!

You know, I never thought I'd be cheering for the Chiefs, but the Rams had a bye week this past weekend and the Chiefs are doing SO WELL this year, now #1 in the AFC West with a 5-0 record!!! : )

I expect to see Vermeil cry any day now... hahahah! We're used to his tears here in STL. : )

I was so excited watching the game yesterday! Dante Hall setting a record! Wow, what a run back for a touchdown! YAY! : )

I called my sister, Angie, right after the game to congratulate them and it was so fun to hear the crowd going crazy at Arrowhead!

We're looking forward to a trip to KC to visit my sister (Angie), brother-in-law (John), and niece (Reese) soon to cheer on the Chiefs!

I can now get some use out of my Chiefs shirt that was given to me by our family Chiefs fans... I've worn it a few times, and every time, people "boo" me here in St. Louis! HAHA!

I promise, I'll wear red if they're not playing the Rams. : )

Happy Birthday, Arn! : )

Though, he never lets me take very many photos of him, I've captured a few here and there... : )

A tribute to my best friend, my husband, my love.

Happy Birthday, Bryan! I love you!

"Happy Birthday Bryan! Who says Bryan is camera shy. I have proof to the contrary ... when we were assembling Susan's Chinees Kite, we couldn't keep him out of the photo ... I'm sending it to Caron."

AWESOME MESSAGE!!

Bryan and I went out to P.F. Changs for his birthday dinner last night! : )

It was yummy! : )

All throughout the day, he received many well wishes via email and phone however, the best message came via answering machine from our niece, Reese, and her mom and dad, Angie (my sister) and John.

They sang happy birthday to Bryan and then, we assume, handed the phone to Reese. It was awesome! We must have listened to it 10 times! : )

Quick Blog

Hi. : ) Things are crazy for me right now with mid-terms...

Here's the summary:
- On Saturday we went out with Bryan's parents to Cunetto's on the Hill for his birthday (family) dinner. It was yummy! : ) Mmmm... Bistecca Sotto... mmm...

- On Sunday Bryan worked on the yard like a monster and I spent the whole day studying and doing laundry.

- Oh, and I listened to the Chiefs game while it was on! WHAT AN AWESOME WIN! YAY! I could visualize the Vermeil tears of pride... ahahah! : ) Can you believe they're 6 and 0?!?! That is so cool! : ) They're the best team in the league right now!

- After class today, I saw Bryan's Aunt Carol at Webster. I'm surprised we haven't run into each other before now. : ) She's a cool Aunt.

- Now, working... probably staying late today, but not too late because the Rams are on Monday Night Football tonight at 8 PM! WOO HOO! I can't wait to see them in all of their HD Glory! : ) STL is going to rock tonight! I predict a good game, but a great win for the Rams! See ya later, Atlanta! : )

Sick-O-Head

DayQuil is awesome, I must say.

I woke up this morning with a fever and sweaty chills. I've called into work and school, but I must say, I'm feeling remarkably better after taking DayQuil about an hour ago.

Hm... Maybe it works good for me now because I don't let myself medicate all of the time with slight congestion or headaches like I used to... interesting. (Becky would be proud of me.) : )

I hope this isn't just a false feeling... Needless to say, I shouldn't over do it. I've been at the computer for a bit, I should go rest for a few.

I wish you are having a more productive day than me. : )
I'll try not to breathe on this entry... hahaha.

Out of the Clouds

Wow! It's amazing what a good nights sleep will do to make you feel better when you've been sick!

I feel so much better today! My head is still all stuffy, but the fever, chills, sweats, etc are gone! YAY! : )

I predict I'll be saying, "What? I'm sorry I can't hear very well today with my stuffy head," a lot today. But at least I'm out of that hazy robot bubble that I was in the past couple of days. (HaHa. Yes hazy robot bubble.) : )

In other news, I have two beautiful presents sitting in my house waiting to be opened on my birthday on Monday. I plan on ripping into them the morning of October 20th. I tried to put them out of my mind by placing them on the top of my bookshelves in the office, but they call my name every time I pass by. : ) I'm so excited to open them! : ) I think it will make a great start to my day! YAY! : )

Chicago Cubs LogoWell, I'm off to class. I have a drawing II critique today. Wish me luck! : )

p.s. Sorry, Chicago. I wanted to see the Cubs go all the way. (I think there are many Cardinals fans who felt similarly. But that's okay because it's the post season and the Cardinals aren't playing.) : )

TGIF... *cough*

So, I've developed a cough today. It totally sucks. It really hurts, too.

I fear that if I'm not careful, I could be sick for my birthday on Monday, so I went to Walgreens today a bought apple juice, gatorade, Wal-Tussin (expectorant), Halls Vitamin C drops, Ricola Natural Herb Cough Drops (which are for the night time when I don't want to be hacking up phlem), and some single serve microwave popcorn.

Orville Redenbacher's Smart Pop Mini BagsOkay, so maybe the popcorn is just to cheer me up a little, but it does help. I promise. : )

Have you heard about this single serve microwave popcorn yet? A couple of people have told me about it and I've been keeping my eyes open for it. I tell you what, it's the cutest little microwave package of popcorn I've ever seen! : ) It's perfect for one serving and it keeps me from ruining my luch or dinner.

God bless Orville Redenbacher and Walgreens!! : )

Happy B-day, Kristin! : )

kristin30.jpgToday is my sister Kristin's Birthday! : ) Right now she is celebrating her 30th in San Francisco! (I'm so jealous!)

So far today, I've sung to her on her voicemail twice. Why twice, you ask? Because my Mom and Dad decided to get Bread Company and eat lunch with me at work! : ) So, we sang to her after eating a very yummy lunch! (Thanks, Mom & Dad!) : )

I can remember Kristin and I, as kids, both getting so excited when the month of October came for our birthdays! I don't think either one of us ever had a non-Halloween themed birthday party. Ha Ha! : )

Okay, Kristin, this is a long-distance birthday wish, so imagine us all in Mom and Dad's kitchen with your candles all lit up on the cookie cake that Mema would make each of us every year...

(All together now...)

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday dear, KRISTIN....
Happy Birthday to you!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Papa: "Bah, Bummm!")

Kissie, we love and miss you and hope that your birthday is awesome! : )

xoxo

p.s. Hi to D.W. and Carlos! : )

What a Birthday! : )

Today I turn 26 years old! Wow! : )

(Well, if you want to be specific, I was born at 11:38 AM, so I have about an hour to go.)

What a birthday it's been so far! I wish every year was this exciting!! : ) Here's what's happened:

- I opened a beautiful Tiffany & Co. box yesterday from Angie, John, Reese, Marley, Gumpy, & Simba. (My sister and family in Kansas City.) It was a gorgeous sterling silver chain with a charm on it that is a stylized "C"! It's beautiful! : )

- Bryan took me out to eat and to a movie last night. It was very fun. We went to Bahama Breeze and to see "Lost in Translation". (The movie was great, however I wouldn't recommend it for everyone. It's very artsy and very independent film like.)

- In between dinner and the movie, we visited my parents house and my little sister Sara gave me a super cool magnetic dry erase board with a clock built in and about 80 magnets! : ) (Some magnets she made herself!)

- My Mom and Dad bought Bryan and I a gag gift... It was hilarious! They are Incredible Hulk Hands and they make noise when you bang them together or hit things with them! Truly a gift that we'll keep at work and laugh about for a while! : )

- Right before bed, at 20 after midnight, I opened a present from my sister Kristin and Carlos. They bought me the gardening tool set that I've wanted for a long time! It is so cool and handy! It will get a lot of love and use! : )

I have to say, the best present that I'll receive for my birthday this year, however, was news from my sister Kristin that her boyfriend Carlos proposed to her on the Golden Gate Bridge yesterday!!! : )

She called me while we were in the car on the way to dinner and from that point on, I haven't stopped smiling! I immediately started crying and I'm so excited to welcome a new brother to our family! : ) (I wish that they would send us some photos soon! Their friends, who live in San Francisco, conspired with Carlos and were taking photos of the whole event.)

Tonight we're going to Krieger's for Monday Night Football to cheer on the Chiefs to continue their winning streak! I cannot believe they're 6 and 0! It will be very fun!

(You know you're a football fan when you want to watch it on your birthday. HAHA!) : )

Go Chiefs!

Slammin'

Boy, I've been slammed at work this week! Ironically, this is fall break at Webster, too! It's a good thing that I didn't have class this week, or I wouldn't have been able to handle the volume of work.

So, I'm on fall break, but does that stop teachers from giving you homework?

Nope.

I have to turn in a paper on Monday. It's supposed to be a three page critical response on a piece of our choice from the new Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis.

So, I went last night for the first time, mainly because it's free on Thursdays and open until 7PM. It's a pretty cool museum, albeit small and I was only one of 5-6 spectators visiting last night.

The highlight of my evening was walking outside to discover a Serra sculpture that lies between the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts and the Contemporary. (The Pulitzer is a private museum that's only open like 2 days a week.)

Serra sculpture at the PulitzerThis sculpture is amazing! I wish I could write about it, but it belongs to the Pulitzer. It's about 15 feet tall and is a steel spiral that you can actually walk in and around. The size and shape of this structure is intimidating, but it creates it's own environment as you explore it. It's super cool!!!! : )

So, I'm not sure which piece I'm going to write about, yet. I used some birthday money from my parents to buy the companion catalog to the exhibit, so hopefully that will help give me some insight. The exhibit is called, 'A Fiction of Authenticity: Contemporary Africa Abroad' and it's really neat, but also really hard to understand enough on my own to write a critical response about... We'll see, I guess...

I hope this entry finds you happy for FRIDAY! : )

Tuesday's Thoughts

I'm still super busy this week, so here's the quick run down of events:

Saturday - Bryan and I volunteered our whole day at a friend's sister's wedding taking candid photos for them. It was pretty fun, but super tiring! (Congratulations, Missy & Eric!)

Sunday - laundry... housework... RAMS WON... wrote a paper for my art history class... CHIEFS WON! : )

Monday - I got my mid term back in art history and I got a C! WHEW! I thought I totally blew that test! And I turned in my paper, which about a third of the class forgot to do, so that makes me look better as a student! Yay for that! : )

Also Monday - Bryan and I went to CompUSA last night and I finally got an ergonomic keyboard for my computer at home and Bryan bought a DVD burner with his Birthday earnings. While I was waiting for him, I found the most hilarious book... "Google for Dummies". I mean, come on... seriously?!?! "Google for Dummies"? If you're not smart enough to be able to work Google, then maybe you shouldn't even own a computer. Well anyway, I took a photo of it with my phone and uploaded it to my Moblog. That photo won me spot on the "Editor's Picks..." list on TextAmerica! YAY!

Today - Work, school, work...

Maybe tomorrow will lighten up... : ) Hope your Tuesday is going well.

Trick-Or-Treat! : )

happyhalloween.gif

blackcat.jpgThis is one of my favorite days of the year! Especially since we moved into our house... All of the little trick-or-treaters are so cute and we heard some pretty good jokes last year!

oprah_halloween.jpgWe're a little behind, though... We haven't bought a pumpkin yet! I plan on buying one at lunch or on the way home and carving it tonight, though.

I don't have a costume this year, but I've considered using the masks from Forbes.com. They've created five Halloween masks of famous billionaires like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Oprah Winfrey, etc. They're pretty funny. : )

We received a Halloween preview from Kansas City today. Our niece, Reese, is almost 14 months old now and had her first visit to a pumpkin patch this year. I love receiving these photos, though it makes me miss them all a lot!!! Here is Tinkerbell in action:

And, (my favorite) if you eat a lot of candy, you have to brush your teeth...

harley_happyhalloween.jpgBryan and I don't have kids yet, but we do have a dog, Harley. She wishes you a Happy Halloween, too.

I hope you have a happy, safe, and fun Halloween!
