I've realized recently that as we get older, we might lose touch or grow apart with our friends because of schedules, families, jobs, etc.
And the initial reaction is to try to not let that happen, but it's almost inevitable.
So, I'm not worried about it. Why? Because the true friends are the ones that will still be there even if you haven't talked to them in two weeks, two months, or two years. And if that isn't enough, they'll want to know everything that has happened with you and they'll love you for it. No matter what. : ) They'll love your different qualities and they'll appreciate your opinions and love to share their opinions with you.
Again, my mom was right. : ) "Just be yourself and your friends will love you for it. If they don't like you for you, then they really don't deserve to be your friend."
Isn't it funny that life runs in circles? You have all of the confidence in the world when you're 6 years-old. And now, at almost 26 years of age, I've finally gained back most of the confidence that I had lost in the past 20 years. : )
All twenty of those years spent wishing that I could go back to kindergarten. (Kind of like the John Mayer song '83.)
And now, I'm very happy that I'm here at 26! : )
